Delicious and better than store bought because....

Better than store bought because we have removed the lectins that can be toxic and create gas!

The traditional store bought and many home made hummus recipes forget that the chic peas actually have a high lectin count!  As you may have learned in some of our video training’s the lectins are the plant toxins that protect the plants from being eaten.  These plant toxins can create a myriad of issues in the body from gas and other digestive discomfort all the way to severe reactions in some!

The garbanzo bean aka chic peas are one of the foods that contains these pesky lectins! With that said personally I love Hummus and really didn’t want to have to give it up!  So I went on a quest to find out how to make one of my favorite foods safer and better to eat!

I spoke with my dear friend and doctor Daniel Thomas and he helped me find the way to make the bean almost lectin free so to be able to make the most delicious hummus with a lot of health benefits that would not create digestive nor inflammatory issues in the body!

I know you are probably going skip the health lecture Coach and give me the recipe!  So with no further to do let’s give you the recipe!!

First off please make sure to use only organic products in the making of this for two reasons.

First the effect it will have on your body, second the flavor!

So long story short this is a 3 day process!

First night you are going to soak the fresh raw chic peas in alkaline water (never use tap water) with a tablespoon of organic baking soda.

Next day cook the chic peas in a pressure cooker for approximately 20 minutes depending on which cooker you are using. Allow them to cool to room temperature before putting them in the refrigerator overnite.

The third day they are now almost and possibly totally free of the lectins that we do not want!

This process may seem like a lot but it really isn’t because it only takes a few minutes it is just the time between that seems long.  Trust me the wait will be worth it!

Ok! Time to make the hummus!

You will want to use a food processor or I actually prefer the old fashioned electric beaters!

First combine

1/3 Cup fresh squeezed lemon juice

1-2 full cloves of fresh garlic (according to taste and size of cloves)

1 teaspoon pink Himalayan sea salt (do not use processed white salt)

1/2 cup tahini

2-4 ounces of ice cols water (not tap, preferable alkaline water)

2-4 ounces of olive oil

in the food processor or bowl and blend completely for 1-2 minutes.

Then add 1.5 cups of your chic peas slowly to the mix and blend to very smooth which is generally 4-6 minutes.

You now have a lectin free organic hummus that not only will be better for your body but will taste amazing and you will find that it is much more economical than buying the pre-made stuff from the store! To me this is a triple win!!

Feel free to reach out to us if you have questions or ideas!

Enjoy the yummy hummus and don’t forget you can always adjust ingredients to taste and add different flavors and trimmings to make it your own!

I also recommend celery, carrots and purple cabbage to use to dip in to this delicious hummus!

Happy eating!
